Project Description
I implemented and customized an accessibility layer for ASA Banka’s website so a large banking information platform could adapt to different visual, reading and focus needs. The constraint was that the solution had to work reliably across an existing custom theme, forms, calculators, navigation and content-heavy pages without breaking the established experience for other users.
Key Design/Development Directions
I treated accessibility as personalization rather than a single ‘accessible mode’. Instead of relying only on default plugin behaviour, I selected and adapted controls that solve different reading problems: contrast and light/dark options for visual perception, grayscale to reduce colour distraction, font sizing and spacing for readability, alignment controls, underlined links and reset behaviour. The trade-off was to offer a meaningful range of options without turning the panel itself into another complex interface. Each control was tested against existing components and adjusted through PHP/CSS so accessibility changes remained consistent across the site. The decision-making focused on practical user needs first, while keeping the implementation maintainable inside the bank’s current WordPress architecture.
Project Outcome
The website will gain a broader and more practical range of accessibility options, supporting more inclusive use for people with low vision, dyslexia, focus-related difficulties and other reading needs.
