Project Description
I worked across the main Learning Library website and its online learning lab, creating a digital ecosystem that separates organizational information from structured educational content. The main problem was competing user intent: some visitors want to understand the organization, while others want to find a resource or begin learning immediately.
Key Design/Development Directions
I chose to separate the institutional and learning journeys instead of forcing both into one navigation structure. This reduces cognitive load, prevents courses from becoming buried inside organizational pages and gives each environment a clearer purpose. The learning experience prioritizes readable long-form content, predictable progression and simple navigation so users can focus on the material rather than learning the platform. Reusable structures were also important because the system needed to grow without depending on a developer every time a new resource or course was added. The trade-off was between customization and maintainability, so the design deliberately favors patterns that are easy for both learners and content managers to understand. The platform was shaped for long-term, low-maintenance use rather than one-off visual impact.
Project Outcome
The project created a clearer digital ecosystem and a dedicated learning space that supported ongoing course growth and more than 200 enrollments within its first year.
